Transitional Housing Program

*Residents may be self-referred or referred through a variety of agencies, including The Department of Children & Family Services, Probation Services and The Department of Mental Health.

BDIPS offers a transitional housing program (THP) for youth that provides a supportive and empowering environment for young individuals in transition. Designed to bridge the gap between dependence and independence, our program offers a safe and stable living space where youth can develop essential life skills, pursue education or vocational training, and cultivate self-sufficiency. Through personalized case management and access to resources such as counseling, academic support, and employment assistance, we aim to empower youth to overcome challenges, build resilience, and achieve their goals.

Our dedicated team of professionals is committed to guiding and supporting each resident on their journey towards independence and success, ensuring they have the tools and support they need to thrive in adulthood while nurturing their mental, physical, and economic growth. By prioritizing our resources to support the growth of our adolescent society, we are able to yield a more powerful impact and advocate for them in the present, helping to set a course towards success in the future.

While maintaining a nurturing environment that engages, challenges and teaches our residents, BDIPS emphasizes that a key component for success is mental well-being. While utilizing the Self-Concept Treatment Modality, we engage our residents to define themselves for who they are, apart from their current circumstances. Identifying a sense of self better prepares our youth to navigate through past traumas in efforts to become more present and self-aware.
